The Union Cabinet has accepted 850 megawatts (MW) Ratle hydropower venture price an Rs. 5281.94 crore on Chenab river in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The venture is being applied below the Centre’s plan to expedite strategically vital hydropower initiatives within the union territory submit its reorganization.

The venture shall be developed by a brand new three way partnership firm between state-run National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Ltd and Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Ltd (JKSPDC), the place NHPC can have a 51% stake within the JV agency, whereas the stability shall be held by JKSPDC.
