India’s longest Road Arch Bridge inaugurated in Meghalaya



Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma has inaugurated India’s longest highway arch bridge “Wahrew Bridge” at Sohbar in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on 22 January 2021. The undertaking was sanctioned in 2013 and, the work began in 2014. The building of the bridge was accomplished in December 2018.

The arch bridge has been constructed at an estimated value of Rs 49.395 crore underneath the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) of the Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER). The iconic construction is anticipated to spice up the tourism sector within the State.
