The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed P.D. Vaghela because the chairman of the Telecom Regulatory of India (TRAI). He will succeed RS Sharma, who was on the helm of the sector regulator for 5 years. He is at present within the division of prescription drugs (DoP) below the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, the place he was appointed because the secretary for a 12 months until 30 September.
