The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has prolonged the tenure of state-run National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd, chairman and managing director, Gurdeep Singh until 31 July 2025. He had first assumed the cost of utility’s chairman and managing director in February 2016.

Gurdeep Singh has earlier labored at NTPC and likewise throughout the facility sector in companies corresponding to CLP, CESC, IDFC, Powergen and AES. His second time period will begin from 4 February subsequent 12 months and prolong until 31 July 2025 which is the date of his superannuation.
