The enhanced model of PINAKA rocket system was efficiently flight examined by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. This enhanced model of the Pinaka rocket would change the prevailing Pinaka Mk-I rockets. While Mk-1 had a spread of 40 km, the brand new variant can hit a goal 45 to 60 km away.

The design and growth of Pinaka have been performed by DRDO laboratories primarily based in Pune, specifically Armament Research and Development Establishment, ARDE and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, HEMRL.
