The World Economic Forum (WEF) has determined to host its 2021 annual assembly in Singapore, which earlier was scheduled to happen in Lucerne-Burgenstock, Switzerland from 13-16 May 2021. The determination to shift the annual discussion board from Switzerland has been taken in view of the Covid-19 state of affairs in Europe.

This could be the second time since its inception in 1971 that the discussion board might be held exterior Switzerland. In 2002, the discussion board was held in New York to point out solidarity with the American folks within the aftermath of 9/11. The assembly is usually held in Davos, Switzerland, however amid covid, the assembly was first shifted to Lucerne-Burgenstock, Switzerland in October 2020. Now once more the venue has been shifted to Singapore. It would return to Davos, Switzerland, in 2022.
