The DRDO efficiently carried out captive and launch trial of indigenously developed Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW) from Hawk-I plane of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) off the Odisha coast. This was the ninth profitable mission of SAAW carried out by DRDO until now and the primary check carried out from the Hawk-i plane.

About Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW):
- The 125 Kg class sensible weapon SAAW was efficiently test-fired from Indian Hawk-Mk132 of HAL.
- SAAW is indigenously designed and developed by DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat (RCI) Hyderabad.
- It is able to partaking floor enemy airfield belongings resembling radars, bunkers, taxi tracks, and runways amongst others, as much as a spread of 100 km.
