India and Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) a Basic Framework for Partnership for Proper Operation of the System Pertaining to Specified Skilled Worker (SSW), to advertise the motion of expert employees from India to Japan. The MoC was signed between Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Ambassador of Japan to India Suzuki Satoshi.

About MoC:
- The MoC covers 14 classes of specified abilities. The expert employees from India who meet these abilities requirement and Japanese language exams can be eligible for employment in Japan on a contractual foundation.
- These employees can be granted the standing of Specified Skilled Worker by Japan.
- The 14 specified trade fields embrace nursing care, constructing cleansing, materials processing, industrial equipment manufacturing, electrical and digital info, development, shipbuilding and ship-related trade, vehicle upkeep, aviation, lodging, agriculture, fisheries, meals and drinks manufacturing and meals companies trade.
