ITBP chief S S Deswal given extra cost of NSG DG


ITBP Director General, S S Deswal has been given the extra cost of counter-terrorism drive National Security Guard (NSG) as its incumbent chief A K Singh goes to retire on September 30. This is the second time that Deswal, a 1984-batch Indian Police Service officer, has been directed to steer the NSG in a further capability.


About National Security Guard:

The NSG was raised because the federal contingency drive in 1984 to undertake particular counter-terrorism operations and hijack-like incidents. The ”black cat” commandos of the drive are primarily based in 5 hubs throughout the nation, aside from their primary garrison in Gurgaon”s Manesar.
