The Maharashtra authorities has introduced the Gan Samragni Lata Mangeshkar award for the 12 months 2020-21 to veteran feminine playback singer Usha Mangeshkar. The award is given by the cultural division of the state authorities. The award features a money prize of 5 lakh rupees, a certificates and a memento.

The veteran singer has sung songs in Marathi, Hindi and several other different Indian language movies. Her songs from the movie ‘Subah ka Tara’, ‘Jay Santoshi Maa’, ‘Azad’, ‘Chitrlekha’, ‘Khatta Meetha’, ‘Kala Pathar’, ‘Naseeb’, ‘Khubsurat’, ‘Disco Dancer’, ‘Inkar’ dominated the chartbuster.
