The Indian Coast Guard Vessel Karnaklata Barua was commissioned at Kolkata. It is the fifth and final in a sequence of Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd. The FPVs are upgraded variations of the inshore patrol vessels with a modified type of the hull and may obtain a velocity of 34 knots. Such vessels have additionally been delivered to Indian Navy by GRSE.
