Renowned Malayalam poet, the priest and academician Vishnu Narayanan Namboothiri, has handed away. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2014, for his contribution to the world of Malayalam literature for many years. He additionally received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Fellowship, Vallathol Award, Odakkuzhal Award and the Mathrubhumi Literary Award, amongst others. He was additionally a famous scholar of language and the Vedas, in addition to an orator.
